Badwater Love

Another inspiration post just because things have been hectic and I feel like I'm neglecting my blog. Do other people feel like that? Like when you have two guitars and you play one all the time so you feel bad about not playing the other? And I also feel bad about posting more personal things instead of fashion-related things. So here goes, just some pictures from my Choses qui m'inspirent folder but hopefully it will get me on track.
I have no idea where most of these pictures are from. I only know the second one is from Yokoo's flickr. Hope summer is gong well for everyone!

Social Intercourse

I'm just putting up an inspiration post after an exhausting week. That means a lot of pictures with not a lot of writing. I also put the link to each of the photographer's sites and highly recommend you to check them out because their work is inspiring...hence the post. Have a great day!

Nail polish lipstick

Have you ever had a moment where something seemed like a great idea and then you go and do it and it's an awful idea? Like nail polish lipstick? Seriously, bad idea. There was this really great nail polish I had (kind of a sparkly grey color) and I thought it would look awesome if if was lipstick so I put it on. Nope, didn't work. It started to sting and then it felt like my lips were shrinking and I had to use nail polish remover to get it off. Probably should have listened to the conversation I had with my friends about it...
K: What would happen if you put nail polish on your lips? I think it would look really cool.
M: Isn't it toxic?
H: Well it's flammable..
K: But then again, so is hair. And so are we.
H: But is it safe?
K: Well... flammable plus flammable must equal safe. So yes.

It's raining, it's pouring

I went outside today and found such a pleasant surprise, it was raining! I love the rain so much and how it just makes everything green and beautiful. And being in the high desert, that is not a common thing. Plus it's about a week until school gets out and should be hot and dry. Not sure why but the rain makes me feel so inspired and happy so I went outside and took some pictures, risking ruining my nice camera, mind you!
Shirt: Dad's, Pants: borrowed from a friend, Scarf: department store, Boots: Blue
I apologize to any of the photographers or bloggers or websites that I have been using pictures from, I forgot to credit the photos. Deeply sorry! All pictures are taken by me with my Nikon D70 camera on a tripod. Any other photos I use I will credit, promise. Have a great Wednesday!

My Train of Thought

I can't really remember where I found this picture but it made me think about how uncomfortable some clothes are and how it would be so much better if we could just go naked. I know, a little weird, but think about it. Nothing to hold you back and you would feel so free!
If there's one thing you should know about me it's how much I love Poko Cox. Of course if I thought of a naked beach, I thought of Poko! He's a very cute stylish Russian musician. That's all I'm going to say!
So for some reason that made me think of a really good photographer, writer, and blogger: Arvida Bystrom. I love her pictures and how sophisticated and courageous she is. Plus I want her hair.
Then I thought of Le Corps Mince de Francoise which is an awesome band...they combine this crazy sort of energy and edgy sound with a tad bit of French. Their style is incredible too! If I could, I would hire them to follow me around, play me music, and be my personal shopper. But unfortunately I can't.
This girl also has amazing style and I want her jacket.
The end.

But I Digress

So this is the outfit I wore today...an oversized dad shirt, some tights, and my new shoes. I got my shoes at Goodwill and absolutely love them, only $5 and very comfortable. I will probably post pictures of the things I got from Goodwill soon... meaning in the next couple weeks! Someone at school today actually told me that my outfit was "casual slut" and another told me last week that if I were a guy then he would think I was gay because of the sweater I was wearing. I'm starting to really enjoy these comments.
Last week I ordered the book Paris by Patrick Messina from the Portraits de Villes collection and it just came today. Love love love. It's a whole book of amazing photography and gets me in the mood for tonight. Tonight there's a meeting in my French class because my teacher is taking a group to France next summer and I about screamed when she told us.
Really I'm just trying to make my hair grow.
It started getting really cold.

Someday Soon

So today was a total mixup. I wanted to go to the library to get the book "The Gulag Archipelago" by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and check out a few CDs so I had my brother drop me off there. When I was done I called my mom to pick me up but she was working in a town an hour away and my dad was working in a town two hours away. And as usual my brother wasn't picking up his phone. So I got some bubble tea and walked home, seven miles away. I guess it could have been worse though...it was decent weather and I didn't have a lot to carry. Anyway, when I was walking I took some pictures and I'll post those. Some CDs I got were No Age, Fleet Foxes, Interpol, and Harlem. Not my usual but it's a used library selection. I also got one called Bright Eyes and I didn't like the music but I had fun with the cover for like 20 minutes! It looks normal but then it has a secret decoder thing and has secret pictures all over it...I'll have to post pictures to explain...

Any Way You Run

Lina Scheynius

Post Number One

Hello! I just started this blog and it is a work in progress meaning it will probably take a while to get it up and running. But in the mean time I plan to post pictures and write about fashion and everything else in between. The reason why I decided to name my blog "We Are" is because fashion is very subjective. It's kind of like a fill in the blank thing if you know what I mean... you can put whatever word in that best describes your taste. Fashion is different to everyone and you don't have to agree with my taste or anyone else's. So let me tell you about myself. My name is Khyra, I'm 15, and I live in Oregon. I love to read, write, and I really want to learn how to fly! I want to be an astronomer when I'm older but for now just want to experiment and see what life is about. Comments are always welcome, wether they be good or bad, and I am always open to talking!
Yours,
Khyra
